Creating a building can be a lengthy and complex process, so breaking it into design stages can help organise the project into more manageable steps. It’s essential for the client to understand what occurs during each stage to effectively communicate with us and know what to expect throughout the design process.
We start with a meeting where we sit down with you to discuss your project goals, objectives, and a realistic budget based on your requirements.
Concept design is about exploring design ideas and establishing the overall direction of the project. We create a preliminary concept based on your input, lifestyle and preferences, considering plan, form and site opportunities/constraints.
We refine the design to meet functional and aesthetic requirements and align with regulations. We finalise appearance and select materials, fixtures and finishes, coordinate consultants and review the design against budget.
If required, we prepare and submit town planning documentation and liaise with council planners, negotiating and attending meetings on your behalf.
We prepare comprehensive documentation for building permits and coordinate with consultants. We manage the permit process and work with the appointed surveyor to secure approval.
We develop interior layouts, detailed fit-out drawings and specifications, including kitchens, bathrooms, custom joinery and furniture. We select materials, finishes and appliances, and coordinate lighting, colours and textures.
During construction we liaise with the builder to ensure the design is faithfully executed and issues are addressed promptly. Acting as an independent advisor, we protect the homeowner’s interests and the design’s integrity.
